We buy pre-consumer, post industrial and post-consumer textile waste as a source of recycled raw material. We select the best raw material, sourcing the highest quality textile waste from all over the world and working with the most trusted suppliers. Garment cutoffs are collected for sorting, cleaning and shorting into even sizes. In this way we prevent textile waste from going to landfill with the aim of creating a zero waste recyling model.
Fabric pieces are shredded multiple times to get opened into fiber sheet. We use our own shredding machinery, ensuring that we work with the best material, in the best conditions, to be able to manufacture the best thread in our recycled yarn shredding process. We have separate manufacturing centers for raw/white yarns and for colored yarns, avoiding contamination. We cover the whole recycling process (360º) by directly recycling unwanted clothes, making it possible to reduce the carbon footprint.
At Vilarrasa we create new fibers with accurate and unique colors without using water or chemicals. We design and cover an unlimited variety of colors according to the needs of our customers. We continuously monitor the physical and chemical properties of our yarns.
The recycled fiber blends are spun into low-impact yarns for all types of fashion, accessory and home textile products. We continuously innovate in new ultimate machinery in order to improve fiber quality by using our +65y of expertise in recycled yarn production.
