At Vilarrasa, we are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility in the textile sector. A few years ago we developed Respin by Vilarrasa, a business line that is based on circular solutions and seeks to convert discarded garments into high quality recycled yarn.
Post-industrial raw material comes from textile waste generated in the weaving process that has not been used by the consumer. Post-consumer raw materials are garments and textile waste that have been used by the end consumer. These materials are collected and sorted before being processed and transformed into high-quality recycled yarn.
The use of post-consumer recycled yarn has a positive impact on the environment, as it reduces the amount of textile waste that ends up in landfills and, consequently, reduces greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, reusing materials that have already been produced reduces the demand for raw materials and saves energy and resources in production.
However, there is still a social perception that recycled yarn is of lower quality than conventional yarn. And nothing could be further from the truth. At Vilarrasa, we guarantee the quality of our post-consumer recycled yarns through an integral, highly technological and efficient vertical process, from the separation of materials to spinning and twisting. The result is a strong, reliable and durable recycled yarn.
High-quality recycled yarn: a circular solution
At Vilarrasa, we constantly strive to research and adopt new technologies to improve our process and offer high quality solutions to our customers and their particular needs. In this way, we can contribute to the sustainable development of the textile industry towards a more responsible and environmentally friendly way.
Since our inception, we firmly believe in the importance of using sustainable and responsible materials in the textile sector and in the need to convert textile waste into high quality recycled yarn. And with Respin by Vilarrasa, it is now possible.
